What's New?

Well, a lot is new since my last blog post... 3 months ago.

New town:
We move to Northern Virginia! We will be here for at least 3 years while Scott finishes his residency. Scott grew up in the area, so the transition up here has been pretty smooth. We are enjoying reconnecting with friends and getting settled.

New job:
Scott is enjoying being an anesthesia resident at Georgetown. We are both enjoying the fact that his is no longer a surgery intern. :)

(Soon to be) New baby:
Lucy’s baby brother will be here soon. I haven’t quite wrapped my mind around the fact that in a month or less I will be taking care of a toddler AND an infant. Lucy seems excited about being a big sister, but in reality, she has no idea what it about to hit her, and how much her life is about to change. To be honest, none of us really understand how much our lives are about to change, but we are excited!

New health issues:
Before leaving Charlottesville, we were grateful to put some of Lucy previous health issues behind us. Her ear finally healed, her most recent MRI showed that her brain still has plenty of room to grow, and she was discharged from Early Intervention for her gross motor delay.

Now, we are entering the exciting world of food allergies. Lucy had blood work done last week, and the results show that she has a severe allergy to eggs, and possible mild allergies to several other foods. For now, her doctor has her on an elimination diet, and we will soon be following up with an allergist who can give us a little bit more direction on what to do from here. Luckily, Lucy will gladly eat almost anything, so switching her to rice milk and wheat free bread (among other things) has not been terribly difficult.

New pictures: (This is really the most exciting part, anyway.)
