A little over a week ago she had an MRI of her head that was ordered by two different doctors for two different reasons! (Her neurosurgeon wanted to make sure that no problems had arisen from her craniosynostosis, and her ENT wanted some imaging done because she has had some issues with recurring infection since her surgery in March.) She was a trooper, and thankfully handled the IV placement and sedation really well. The procedure left her a little cranky and groggy that afternoon:
We had a really encouraging appointment with the neurosurgeon this week. Everything looks good, and her brain still has plenty of room to grow. The results from her ENT were not quite as good. She still has some lingering infection and inflammation despite the tubes in her ears and the multiple rounds of antibiotics. We are trying once more to treat this medically, but if the infection doesn't clear up soon we will probably be facing more surgery once we move to Reston. Thankfully, between Scott's previous medical history, and the fact that he is now a resident, we both feel right at home at hospitals!
Just for fun, here is a particularly cute picture of Lucy from a few days ago:
and one more that shows her typical (almost 2 year old) state of mind these days:
